Call to Worship:
How long has it been?
Eighty-five years!
Eighty-five good years?
Eighty-five years in which God has called us to be the United
Church.
So today we celebrate -
what it means to be God's people.
What it means to be Christ's disciples.
What it means to be the United Church of Canada.
So today we celebrate!
And we worship God! (adapted from Gathering
Summer/Autumn 2010 by Richard Bott p.52)
Prayer of Approach:
We remember the life of Christ, O God. It is our story.
We remember the ministry of the apostles. It is our story.
We remember the Reformation, the birth of Methodism and
Presbyterianism, and the founding of our country, Canada. Creator of
all, this is our story.
We remember Union in 1925, the excitement and celebration. It
is our story.

and August, after the 9:30 a.m. service. Lemonade is provided.
Sign up sheet is posted near the entrance to the kitchen.
Summer Ushering/Greeting - Traditionally, 2 volunteers
offer to greet and usher at our summer worship services. If you know you
will be attending on a certain Sunday during the summer, we would be very
grateful if you would offer to greet and usher on that day. It is
suggested that you arrive about 20 minutes before the service begins,
welcome folk as they arrive, distribute bulletins and collect the offering
at the appropriate time during the service. It's a wonderful way to extend
the hand of friendship and a warm welcome to visitors and our church
family. If you feel you can help, please sign up on the volunteer poster
in the foyer. Thank you.

Flowers in our sanctuary today
are given by Peter & Naomi Perry in celebration of the baptism of their
grandson, Logan Peter Cantin.
