Sally Duke was the Director of Music at KUC since 1979. A native of Ohio, Sally received her Bachelor of Arts degree in music and history from Centre College of Kentucky and a Master of Arts degree in history from the University of Connecticut, where she continued studies in organ and music history. Sally met her Canadian husband, Murray, while in Connecticut, and they moved to Kanata in 1977. Sally enjoys reading, cooking, travel and golf and is learning to play the guitar. She has been active with the musicians' association of the United Church of Canada and the Royal Canadian College of Organists. Sally directed the Alleluia Singers and the Intermediate and Adult Choirs and worked with the KUC Band and other volunteer musicians. In 2012, she received certification as a trained children's choir director following a three-year summer course with the Choristers Guild Institute. She particularly enjoyed worship planning and directing musical dramas. Sally retired on July 30, 2017 as the Director of Music.
